NC Pastors Survey for UNC Research Project

Prominent UNC professors, Liesbet Hooghe, Gary Marks, and Stephanie Shady, are requesting pastors in the WNCC to participate in a short, confidential survey for research they are conducting regarding the moral underpinnings of political change in North Carolina. Please consider participating in this important study.

From Professors Hooghe, Marks, and Shady:

We are re-contacting you to request your help in a survey on moral leadership in local communities in North Carolina. Churches are pillars of community life, and we are canvassing pastors and associate pastors across the spectrum of Christian churches to get their take on how their local community navigates the issues of our time. We would really like to hear from you.

If you have already filled out this survey, thank you!

If you started but did not finish, just click the link from the same device to pick up where you left off.

The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. The link has been de-personalized to protect your identity. We will be pleased to provide you with a detailed summary report of the study. If you have questions about this study, please email hooghe@unc.edu.
Thank you for your consideration, and we very much look forward to hearing from you.

Investigators: Prof. Liesbet Hooghe, Prof. Gary Marks, Stephanie Shady PhD. cand.

OTHER:

The Appalachian District Church Vitality Team has been prayerfully seeking ways to help support you and the ministries of your local congregation during this COVID-19 pandemic. Together they have diligently researched and connected with others throughout the conference and our denomination to identify resources and offer them to you. We hope they will be helpful to you and bless you greatly in leading your churches and communities through this unprecedented time. We are very grateful to the District Vitality Team and other contributors for their great work on this resource.

This faithful team has created three documents, two of which you are receiving today. They include:

  • Family Home Worship – designed to help families establish a regular worship space within their homes as well as a time where they can worship together.
  • Tech Strategies – to help guide you in selecting effective tools and resources within your budget to best communicate in the digital world.

We believe these resources will be of great benefit to you. Also know that the District Vitality Team is available to answer any questions you might have in regards to the documents attached. If you have questions, you may email Rev. Howard Fleming at hfleming@wnccumc.net.
