Congratulations to 2016 PHW Certified Congregations

Congratulations to the following congregations from the Western North Carolina Conference and the North Carolina Conference  who received their Partners in Health and Wholeness certification for 2016 and are/were eligible for grants to expand or implement health and wellness ministries in 2016/2017. We are delighted to walk alongside these churches who are exploring what it means to engage with the health needs of their communities through a lens of faith. These names represent ministries that include some or all of the following: free exercise classes for their community, healthier food pantries, community gardens, nutrition workshops, walking trails, health fairs, bible studies around food and faith/faith and health, new health and wellness committees, children/teen workshops, community tables and mental health training workshops. Most importantly these names represent congregations engaging in place based ministries that embrace God’s shalom.
