The Children's Home Sunday is September 11th

Bulletin-Graphic-Color--360pxTo all United Methodists in Western North Carolina, We hope you are planning to join us and other congregations around the Conference on September 11, 2016 to pray for our children and to support the important work we do at The Children’s Home. Based on your own church calendar, you may have chosen another date to highlight The Children’s Home and we would love to know the date so we can be praying for your congregation. In order to be good stewards making sure your donations are directly serving our children, we have set up a website for you to download resources to help promote The Children’s Home Sunday and Local Church Day at The Home Maze (October 2) . There you will find the bulletin insert, a bulletin ad to print within your own bulletin, and the poster. These resources could also be used for social media posts or email blasts to your congregation. The web address below also contains a video from last year’s Maze so you can see the scope of this exciting event. Download these files for printing or insertion into your bulletin at: www.tchome.org/childrens-home-sunday-resources Online donations can be made at www.tchome.org/give/. Please express our heartfelt appreciation to your congregation. If you have any questions regarding The Children’s Home Sunday or The Home Maze, please contact Brandon Cathey, Sr. Advancement Officer at (336) 721-7675 or bcathey@tchome.org. Thank you for supporting The Children’s Home. Blessings, Brett A. Loftis, JD Chief Executive Officer

OTHER:

The Appalachian District Church Vitality Team has been prayerfully seeking ways to help support you and the ministries of your local congregation during this COVID-19 pandemic. Together they have diligently researched and connected with others throughout the conference and our denomination to identify resources and offer them to you. We hope they will be helpful to you and bless you greatly in leading your churches and communities through this unprecedented time. We are very grateful to the District Vitality Team and other contributors for their great work on this resource.

This faithful team has created three documents, two of which you are receiving today. They include:

  • Family Home Worship – designed to help families establish a regular worship space within their homes as well as a time where they can worship together.
  • Tech Strategies – to help guide you in selecting effective tools and resources within your budget to best communicate in the digital world.

We believe these resources will be of great benefit to you. Also know that the District Vitality Team is available to answer any questions you might have in regards to the documents attached. If you have questions, you may email Rev. Howard Fleming at hfleming@wnccumc.net.
