Reception honoring the Rev. Bob Combs

 

combs-1On Saturday, August 6, the WNC Conference Brotherhood/Sisterhood held a reception to honor the Rev. Robert W. Combs at Boger City UMC, Lincolnton for his retirement following seventeen years of service as service as Executive Director of the Brotherhood/Sisterhood.  Members of the Brotherhood/Sisterhood, clergy colleagues, friends from former churches, and friends at Boger City UMC came that afternoon to thank Bob for his service and ministry.  As part of the reception, Bob was presented with a plaque honoring him as Executive Director Emeritus of the Brotherhood/Sisterhood.  He also received a scrapbook of letters of appreciation for his ministry with the Brotherhood/Sisterhood. The Rev. Robert Combs entered the Church Triumphant on August 25.  A Service of Death and Resurrection was held at Boger City UMC on August 29.  As part of this service, the Rev. Roland Barnhardt, Interim Executive Director of the Brotherhood/Sisterhood, presented the benefit check to the Combs family. combs-2The WNC Conference Brotherhood/Sisterhood exists to provide ministry to the families of clergy of the WNC Annual Conference following the death of the clergy member.  More information regarding the Brotherhood/Sisterhood (including information on how to be part of this ministry) can be found at www.brotherhoodsisterhood.com.
