Global Leadership Summit August 6-7- Special Pricing for WNCC

global-leadership250Ready to Energize Your Leadership? Many years ago, as I was planting my first church, I wandered onto the massive campus of Willow Creek Church near Chicago, Illinois to attend the first session of what was then called, “The Leadership Summit.” Bill Hybels, Founding Pastor, had a vision for gathering folks from around the country to hear some of the most prominent business and church leaders/practitioners share principles for leadership success and fruitfulness. What a positive impact these sessions have had on my own ministry leadership. Since the early days the Leadership Summit has become a global event hence the “Global Leadership Summit.” Now, we don’t have to travel to Chicago to be part of this amazing event. I am pleased to share with you that Christ Church, Hickory, has negotiated a special reduced rate of $95 for United Methodist pastors and laity to attend the two day Global Leadership Summit August 6-7 at Christ Church’s Mt. View Campus located at 2416 Zion Church Road.  This is an incredible price! The rate at the door on August 6 will be $249. So please register as soon as possible. This is truly one of the best leadership training events in the world---it is literally shared around the world to include under resourced countries. I hope you’ll think and pray about attending and bring some of your key leaders with you. Senior Pastor, Charles Kyker, personally welcomes your participation because he understands and practices- “when leaders get better then everyone is impacted in a positive way!” The speakers are the top presenters and practitioners in their fields as they come from non-profits, the local church, academia, and corporate America.  Here is a link to the GLS intro of speakers: The Global Leadership Summit 2015 Faculty To register for this special reduced rate: Simply click the link below and use priority code: GLSUR15 to receive the $95 rate. https://www.willowcreek.com/events/leadership/reg1.asp?event_id=EV-LSS1508-MAIN-197 I plan to be there on August 6 and 7 and will look forward to seeing you there as well! Leading together in Christ! Gary Shockley

OTHER:

The Appalachian District Church Vitality Team has been prayerfully seeking ways to help support you and the ministries of your local congregation during this COVID-19 pandemic. Together they have diligently researched and connected with others throughout the conference and our denomination to identify resources and offer them to you. We hope they will be helpful to you and bless you greatly in leading your churches and communities through this unprecedented time. We are very grateful to the District Vitality Team and other contributors for their great work on this resource.

This faithful team has created three documents, two of which you are receiving today. They include:

  • Family Home Worship – designed to help families establish a regular worship space within their homes as well as a time where they can worship together.
  • Tech Strategies – to help guide you in selecting effective tools and resources within your budget to best communicate in the digital world.

We believe these resources will be of great benefit to you. Also know that the District Vitality Team is available to answer any questions you might have in regards to the documents attached. If you have questions, you may email Rev. Howard Fleming at hfleming@wnccumc.net.
