2015 UM Men's Rally is April 24-26

ummrally1The 35th Annual Spiritual Rally of the United Methodist Men has been scheduled for April 24-26, 2015 at Lambuth Inn, Lake Junaluska, NC. This year's theme is: "What a Fellowship...Mission, Ministry & Outreach." Featured speakers for this year's event include: Rev. Dr. John Boggs, Rev. Dr. Gary Shockley, Rev. Emmanuel Morris, Sr., Rev. David Ortigoza and Rev. Terry Duckworth. The UMM annual rally offers inspiration and direction to United Methodist Men’s Fellowships and individual participants, as they seek God’s will for their common and individual lives to respond to that call in obedience. It is hoped the experience of this rally will encourage participants to work faithfully to make United Methodist Men an even stronger influence in United Methodism. The schedule includes local and district training on Friday night, workshops and a mission event on Saturday morning and afternoon,  and preaching and worship on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The mission event will be a meal packing project with Stop Hunger Now and the goal for that weekend is 10,000 meals. The Appalachian District Church Vitality Team has been prayerfully seeking ways to help support you and the ministries of your local congregation during this COVID-19 pandemic. Together they have diligently researched and connected with others throughout the conference and our denomination to identify resources and offer them to you. We hope they will be helpful to you and bless you greatly in leading your churches and communities through this unprecedented time. We are very grateful to the District Vitality Team and other contributors for their great work on this resource.
This faithful team has created three documents, two of which you are receiving today. They include:

  • Family Home Worship – designed to help families establish a regular worship space within their homes as well as a time where they can worship together.
  • Tech Strategies – to help guide you in selecting effective tools and resources within your budget to best communicate in the digital world.

We believe these resources will be of great benefit to you. Also know that the District Vitality Team is available to answer any questions you might have in regards to the documents attached. If you have questions, you may email Rev. Howard Fleming at hfleming@wnccumc.net.
