2018 Annual Statistical Report

RE:       2018 Annual Statistical Report

Yet, again, it is time to complete the statistical year-end report for 2018.  Last year, we were able to achieve 100% of our churches reporting (of course that did include some of the districts having to insert prior year data for a several congregations).  I hope this year we can achieve 100% with all information coming from the churches themselves.

In January, we will reopen the tables for reporting.  A more detailed instruction letter will be posted on the website with specific instructions.  Also we will repost the 2017 instructional video (link to video) on the conference website with key information you will need to complete the process.  Just ignore “2017” references as all other general information is applicable.

As 2018 is the second year of this quadrennium, some important changes included in 2017 are preserved for 2018.  GCFA has dramatically changed the line numbers but it is hoped resulting in a streamlined and simplified system.  Please pay close attention to the line numbering and use the helpful documents located at the EZRA site.

The due date to have your report to your district office (Final Submit) is Thursday, January 31, 2019.  EZRA, the GCFA on-line program for statistical submission, will be ready to receive data on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

Just as in the previous years, there is an additional Supplement we are asking for 2018.  You will continue to provide Supplement 1 with names of additions and subtractions (that is truly used by your district office).  Supplement 2 attempts to move beyond mere numbers and give you and your congregation an opportunity to share what God is doing in your midst.  You may feel free to use a portion of your pastor’s report from Charge Conference.  Once you have completed and submitted Tables 1, 2, and 3, you will be directed to the Supplements.

Supplement 2 must be printed out and signed by the following:

  • Pastor in charge
  • Lay Leader
  • Treasurer

with all three attesting they have reviewed the entire statistical report and validating/confirming its accuracy to the best of their knowledge.  Print out, sign and submit Supplement 2 to your district office (no later than January 31, 2019).  All other submissions are done on-line as previous years.  Specific instructions are located on the Ezra site: ezra.gcfa.org

I sincerely appreciate your efforts and look forward to another successful year of statistical submissions!

The Appalachian District Church Vitality Team has been prayerfully seeking ways to help support you and the ministries of your local congregation during this COVID-19 pandemic. Together they have diligently researched and connected with others throughout the conference and our denomination to identify resources and offer them to you. We hope they will be helpful to you and bless you greatly in leading your churches and communities through this unprecedented time. We are very grateful to the District Vitality Team and other contributors for their great work on this resource.
This faithful team has created three documents, two of which you are receiving today. They include:

  • Family Home Worship – designed to help families establish a regular worship space within their homes as well as a time where they can worship together.
  • Tech Strategies – to help guide you in selecting effective tools and resources within your budget to best communicate in the digital world.

We believe these resources will be of great benefit to you. Also know that the District Vitality Team is available to answer any questions you might have in regards to the documents attached. If you have questions, you may email Rev. Howard Fleming at hfleming@wnccumc.net.
